Lash & Brow
What's the difference between tabbing and the extensions?
Tabbing is the process of applying clusters of lashes that only last for 4-5 days. They are laid on top of your natural lashes and help fill in gaps for those with more sparse lashes, giving you an extra full look. They're great for special events. I call these "party lashes" they should be treated the same as strip lashes, they are not meant to last long periods of time and should never be attached to individual lashes because of the weight.
Individual extensions are applied one extension to one of your natural lashes. They are more appropriate for daily wear - although they're certainly great for events too - and will last as long as your lash cycle does. With individual extensions, you have more options for customizing the length and thickness.
What's the difference between the Cheeky, Alluring and Bombshell sets and fills? How long do they take?
Within each of these sets and fills, we can use any length or thickness of lash. The difference between the sets refers mainly to the amount of lashes for desired volume. For fills, the Cheeky is 45-60 minutes, the Alluring is 60-75 minutes, and the Bombshell is 75-120 minutes.
I've just had my first full set. How do I know how much time to book for a fill?
This depends on each person's lash cycle. Some will see more fall out than others depending on how rapid or slow their cycle is. For your first fill, plan for a bit longer as we can assess how quickly or slowly your lash cycle works. If you haven't had much fall out, we can always bump that next fill time an extra week or plan for less time at the following apt. We Also offer a weekly fill to keep your set looking fresh and lush.
What's the average lash cycle?
Each person's lash cycle is a little different. Some people's lashes shed at a faster pace than others. The average cycle is around six weeks, but your lashes fall out at different rates. It's not out of the ordinary to see one or two fall out one day and then not see more fall out for days.
Do I have to give my lashes a break sometimes?
As long as your extensions are properly applied, your lashes will remain strong. We are professionally trained and certified to keep your lashes healthy!
If I purchase RevitaLash or Nouriche, can I use that in conjunction with the extensions?
Absolutely. RevitaLash and Nouriche are perfectly safe to use on the lash extensions. They can actually extend the life of your extensions, keeping the hair in the folicle longer so that it can grow longer and stronger. We do recommend that you wait the 48 hour period after getting your fill or full set before applying the conditioners.
How do I clean my extensions?
We recommend that you brush the extensions out to keep them healthy. Some people like to run products such as baby shampoo through them in the shower to cleanse off any oils that might break down the glue sooner. Just make sure to avoid oil based products! Also the less touchy-feely you get with your lashes the better. ;)
What is a lash perm?
A lash perm is similar in theory to a hair perm in that it curls your lashes! During the application, we curl your lashes to a roller and apply both a perm and setting lotion. It's a great process for those with long, straight lashes who want naturally curled lashes without having to take time out of their daily routine. We use a nourishing lotion at the end of the process so you leave with healthy, beautifully curled lashes. On average the perm lasts around 6-8 weeks, so say goodbye to your curler!

What is 3Di Brow Embroidery?
This innovative technique simply involves using a hand method tool and multiple micro needles. It is considered to be semi-permanent, as compared to the traditional tattoo hair stroke technique. The results are natural looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow colour, and if the eyebrows are still present they will blend perfectly into them. The results are natural and flawless, giving you a fuller looking brow. Initially, the brows will appear darker but will fade significantly over a two week period. A complementary touch up after 6 weeks is required as it is difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment.
How long does it last?
Typically 1-3 years but a few factors come into play here. I can discuss after care more in-depth with you during the consultation appointment.
I'm Nervous, will it hurt?
Don’t be nervous, I use an amazing topical anesthetic to numb the area before we start. Your comfort is very important to me! Everyone’s pain threshold is different. If yours is low feel free to take a NON BLOOD THINNING pain killer before your appointment like Tylenol. I continue to use numbing agents during the procedure as well
How do you know what shape and colour to use?
I have extensive training in the cosmetics industry, which has allowed me to work on every skin tone, brow shape, face shape, eye shape, you could possibly think of! This gives me a major advantage when it comes to helping you choose the design and colour that suits you best. Having an eyebrow obsession also helps. You can be confident you will walk out with a shape that suits your features and leaves you feeling fresh and confidant.
One procedure cannot guarantee desired outcome. In some cases, we need to see how our clients react to the pigment and review the healing process after the first procedure. Therefore, we offer one complementary touchup visit after the 6 weeks waiting period of the first procedure. In very complicated cases (involving removal/color correction/camouflage/scar tissue/iron disorder) an extra charge may apply on extra touch-ups afterwards.
What can I expect following the service?
For the first 3 - 6 days, the color intensity of your procedure will be significantly darker, as well as larger and sharper than what is expected for the final outcome. Although the area will appear healed shortly after, it will not be fully healed for 4-6 weeks to reveal the actual colour, this is based on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates. Also how your skin retains the pigmentation. This is why it is absolutely critical that you commit to a complimentary follow up appointment to make sure we achieve the desired results.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR NEW COSMETIC TATTOO:
Thank you for choosing Studio Skera for your new tattoo!
Now you can sit back, relax, and do nothing!
We have had the best results with the "Do Nothing" healing method and it makes it easier for everyone! We recommend washing the tattooed area GENTLY 2-3 times a day with lukewarm water and a disposable paper towel. Gently Pat it dry and keep it out of the sun throughout the healing process. Do not apply makeup in this area for AT LEAST 10-14 days. Just keep the area clean and let it breathe! If your skin starts to feel tight and dry around the third or fourth day, you may then use a SMALL amount of the aftercare moisturizer I provide to you. Please do so sparingly.
WHAT NOT TO DO:
You may shower or bathe normally, but avoid getting any soaps, shampoos or other cleansers on the treated area for the first five days as they can be detrimental to the bonding process that must take place for the pigment to stabilize in the dermis.
DO NOT pick or scratch at the dry skin/flakiness; let the skin fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment. IMPORTANT: Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes. It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared. Within 1-2 weeks, the hair strokes will slowly reappear at a lighter shade as your skin regenerates.
DO NOT apply make-up to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks. Cosmetics of any kind may interfere with the healing and color of your tattoo.
DO NOT use Vaseline, Neosporin or other petroleum based products while healing.
DO NOT bleach, tint or dye the tattooed area for one month following the procedure.
DO NOT apply any anti-acne products (e.g. Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Proactiv, etc.) or lightening creams (skin bleaching creams) such as hydroquinone to the treated area while healing.
No anti-aging products or facial products containing Alpha Hydroxyls (AHAs), Retin-A, Lactic or Glycolic Acids
Do not thread, wax, or use hair removal products on the treated area while healing.
NO exercising and/or sweating for a few days prior to getting tattooed and for one week after.
NO swimming pools, jacuzzis or other bodies of water for two weeks.
Do not soak your face underwater in a bathtub or allow the shower to spray directly in your face for two weeks.
Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, you may apply sunscreen on the treated area. Wear large sunglasses and a hat for further protection. Rinse and dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine.
Glycolic acid, microdermabrasion, and chemical face peel products must be kept away from the tattooed area as continued use could lighten the pigment.
If you are having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal after your tattoo has healed, please inform the laser technician. Continue at your own discretion. Laser procedures may darken, lighten, or discolor the tattooed area.
Once the treated area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be done at your follow-up appointment no sooner than 6-8 weeks later.
What sets your spray tans apart from tanning booths?
Our spray tans are more effective than booth tanning. We use a hand held airbrush machine to make sure your skin is efficiently covered without any splotches. You won't have to wonder where to stand or what nozzle the spray will be coming out of. We can even feature certain areas such as the stomach for a more defined look.
What solution do you use and will I look orange?
Our all-natural vegan solution gives a beautiful skin tone without any orange tint or harmful parabens.
